After numerous guided expeditions, Robert felt comfortable venturing out
into the wilderness (OK, Pilot Mountain, which is at best semi-wilderness)
by himself. With the kids and brother Timothy in tow, and loaded down by
a ton of bright shiny new equipment, they set off!
This was Tim's first attempt at rock climbing, and while he had
no problem with the climbing part, he at first had severe reservations
about the "trusting malicious older brother to safely lower you" part.
But the hilight of the day was a courageous climb by James. You will recall from
one of our earlier episodes, The Return of the Unready,
James climbed halfway up a cliff to retrieve a magic leaf.
This time, despite getting a clod of dirt in his eye, he made it all
the way to the top of this difficult climb!
